Blak Yak theatre is proud to present the 24 Hour Stage Project, where talented writers, directors and actors from the Perth area will write, produce and stage between 3 and 6 short plays in 24 hours.
Yup, you read right. The 24 hour stage project is exactly that; 24 hours to write, stage and perform a short play lasting between 10 and 30 minutes. We will be staging up to 6 short plays, developed and staged in the one 24 hour period, which will then be adjudicated for cash prizes.
This event is the registration deadline for participants – if you are interested in participating, read the information pack here for more information.
Who is the project open to?
Everyone over 18! The info pack goes into more detail about what you can do to participate, but in short, we want actors, writers, directors and stage ninjas to come along and get involved.
The Details
The 24 Hour Stage Project will be held at the Shenton Park Community Centre, 240 Onslow Rd, Shenton Park on the 21 April 2017. The Project will start with a mixer from 7 PM on Friday the 21 April, where there will be food and wine provided, with the official Project kicking off at 8PM. Rehearsal space will be provided at the same venue, which will be accessible for the second day.
The plays will be staged at 8PM on Saturday the 22 April, with adjudications provided on the evening. Tickets will be available for $10 on the door, so that your friends and family will be able to see the output of all your hard work. Seating will be theatre style, with nibbles and drinks available on the night.
Does it cost anything?
It takes a lot of awesome, committed people to pull together a 24 hour stage project, so check out the roles that we need people to fill, and how you can get involved. Entry into the project for 2017 will cost $15 per person. This entry fee covers hire of the venue, provision of the technical staff and equipment and provision of drinks and canapés on the evening of Day 1.
